I could tell you that you need to eat clean 80% of the time and work out if you want to see results. I could also tell you that it’s a lifestyle change and not a diet, or I could just say drink these shake supplements and eat this and that for 3 months and you’ll see results.
OR I could be completely honest and tell you that NONE of that is going to work.
Unless you change your mindset.
Learn how to love yourself and how you look now vs. the way you think you look.
Take joy in consciously making choices that will nourish your body, you cannot deny how much better you feel while eating fresh fruit as opposed to eating sugary donuts.
If you are blessed with a body that can move, be aware of this blessing as you move; run through the sprinklers with your kids, chase them in the backyard, jump off from the top step of your porch – move like a child and relish the amazing things your body can do.
So what if it’s not graceful; who cares if you’re slow?
Focus on what you can do and your body is capable of – the rest will fall into place.
How you relate to and treat your body should be your number one priority. You can’t be fully present as a wife, mother, employee, etc. if you’re in pain or your mind is pre-occupied with how you look in your clothes.
There is absolutely no need to go out and buy all those products, shakes, dvds and equipment if, deep down, you dislike yourself.
Loving yourself is the first and only tool you need to be successful.
With the mindset that everything you do, say and eat comes from a place of love, you will start to consciously make the right choices. Your inner voice will sound diffferent, you’ll speak with loving words about yourself to yourself. You’ll choose foods that you know will fuel your body, your entire mindest will change.
Forget this notion of “ideal weight” your ideal weight is the weight that makes you feel the most comfortable. In fact, it’s not even about a number at all. It’s a feeling. How good do you feel when you’re comfortable and have energy?
If you’re a binge eater, figure out what it is that you’re truly hungry for. (it’s not the food, or the shopping or the alcohol, or whatever your vice is, that will make you feel whole) You will not find peace at the bottom of a potato chip bag, or ice cream container. If your drug of choice is retail therapy, you’ll learn that peace certainly cannot be found in a closet full of shoes either.
If you’re using things to comfort yourelf, realize that there is a need to be filled, and fill it. It takes some work and practice, looking inward and loving yourself and finally being comfortable with where you are right now.
Don’t just visualize where you where you want to be 6 months from now.
While visualization is important, it’s also important to realize that where you are today, right at this moment is perfect too and love yourself right here, where you are.
Then, you’ll be in a place to move forward in a healthful manner toward your goals.
